Primo's Donuts //
Venice
Unbuilt Bakery Interior
Located on Main Street just a few blocks from Venice Beach, Primo’s Donuts Venice was set to be a sweet spot for baked buns, and such. In the past this property served the community as a church, mortuary, illegal pizza shop, and energy bar. Toasty layered neutral tones, along with pillowy edges and mixed textures, the interior motif was inspired through the deconstruction of one of my personal favorite baked goods, cinnamon rolls. Furthermore, the décor reflected the global travels of a local surfer in the 1950s. The approximately 800 SF unit featured an open kitchen, indoor seating with a window bar, as well as a small outdoor patio. Unfortunately for this location it was sun’s off, buns off, as the project was binned due to irreconcilable third-party delays.
